Position Summary

Maternal Fetal Medicine Faculty Position withEducation Across Maternal Health Deserts

Practicing maternal fetal medicine at the University ofNew Mexico means holistic work to improve outcomes for pregnant and postpartumpeople in this state. We provide careboth locally and in outreach clinics that primarily partner with Indian HealthServices and Tribal hospitals. We areclinical teachers of students, residents and fellows. We lead research that is clinicallysignificant to our patients with respect to health inequities. Our work is multidisciplinary as our patient'soutcomes hinge not only on excellent clinical care but navigation of complexhealth related social needs.

The University of New Mexico, School ofMedicine and Health Sciences Center is seeking a maternal fetal medicinespecialist who will contribute actively to the climate of diversity &inclusivity. We invite applications foran open rank, open track full-time faculty position in Maternal Fetal Medicine. UNM's Maternal Fetal Medicine Divisionhas an established fellowship, has a busy clinical practice, is active inresearch and education, and is building an innovative partnership with flightmedicine to improve outcomes for pregnant and postpartum persons who aretransported from rural areas and maternal health care deserts.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent
    Board certified or eligible by the American Board ofObstetrics and Gynecology
  • Completion of a Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Eligible for medical licensure in NM, State of New MexicoBoard of Pharmacy certification, and federal DEA registration

  • Experience teaching students and residents
  • Clinical skills and scholarly activity
  • Experience working within a managed care environment
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Experience or interest in research activity and careerdevelopment
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion,and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
