Position Summary
The Mathematics Instructor is responsible for the planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. They will provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in the area of credentialed expertise. The Instructor will adhere to the general faculty guidelines as specified by the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees and the Drake State Community and Technical College Personnel Handbook.

Salary Range $46,590 - $94,363 (9 months, Exempt).
Summer employment may be available from $14,384 - $29,184

Work Hours: Classes are taught day, evening, and weekends on the Huntsville campus. In addition, multiple forms of distance education are offered.

Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. - Provide quality instruction in the area of college level math, developmental education or adult education, as assigned, and in traditional, hybrid or online delivery formats
- Inform students concerning course requirements, evaluation procedures, attendance requirements, and academic progress
- Seek continuous improvement in curriculum, instruction, and resources
- Participate fully in the institutional planning process and assist in carrying out the overall instructional mission of the College
- Prepare and grade assignments, projects, and examinations as required
- Provide support services to students (tutoring, mentoring, academic advising, etc.) as needed
- Provide a flexible schedule to meet the needs of all stakeholders
- Assist in registration and pre-registration activities as needed
- Maintain an inventory of assigned equipment and supplies
- Serve on college committees and teams when requested
- Teach at varied times, locations, formats based on student demand, day, evening or weekend, including dual enrollment, traditional classroom, hybrid, or online
- Submit required reports to the Division Chair, Assistant Dean of Instruction, or Dean of Instruction
- Inform students of educational and occupational opportunities
- Provide a proper instructional environment and maintain good human relations in the classroom and online so that learning is effective, engaging and promotes student success
- Participate in faculty and professional organizations
- Participate in recruitment, retention, and outreach activities as needed

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Mathematics
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in developmental and/or college level mathematics
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, other employees,
and the public
- Ability to project a professional and congenial demeanor
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to use basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Banner, CANVAS, etc.)
