POSITION: Senior Engineer, Mechanical Design and Structures

LOCATION: Jupiter, FL

STATUS: Salary Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

Leads the team in design and development of Industrial Gas Turbine Engine components and systems to meet Fit, Form and Functional requirements and design criteria. Maintain "cradle to grave" ownership of designs. The candidate must demonstrate a team-focused and proactive approach to problem solving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Design Industrial Gas Turbine Engine components and systems to meet Fit, Form and Functional requirements and design criteria.
• Support the continued development and oversee the adherence to PSM design systems including job folders and documentation, technical reviews, drawings and engineering changes and field validation plans and verification.
• Analyze or guide analyst to ensure parts maintain appropriate stress levels, meet life requirements, and meet design criteria.
• Utilize appropriate design/analysis tools, such as Creo, ANSYS/Abaqus, Microsoft Excel or similar.
• Evaluate supplier quotes and capabilities to ensure supplier can meet quality and schedule requirements.
• Mentor and assist other design engineers in appropriate use of design practices, analytical methods, use of design/analysis tools, material selection and manufacturing/processing options.
• Assess needs and identify critical path schedules for design, manufacturing and procurement activities.
• New product manufacturing development including disposition of nonconforming hardware.
• Create, lead and/or deliver presentations to internal and external clients.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training

• BS, MS or PhD degree in Mechanical, Aero Space, or Aeronautical Engineering; MS / PhD degree Preferred.

Skills/Experience

• 10+ years of experience in gas turbine component design and manufacturing.
• Experience in GD&T and modeling.
• Working knowledge of gas turbine components and assemblies.
• Strong analytical decision-making and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of various manufacturing processes, general machining and fabrication.
• Experience with FEA software preferred (ANSYS/Abaqus).
• Experience presenting technical topics to peers, higher management, and customers.
• Candidate must be effective in communicating and decision-making.
• Candidate must have effective organizational skills.
• Candidate must have the ability to work multiple assignments effectively.
• Technical computer capability required (C++, VBA, etc.)
• Travel is required on an as needed basis.
