JOB SUMMARY

Mechanical design position to lead and support development and implementation of combustor system upgrades. Candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary design team working on IGT combustion components and systems to meet performance and design criteria such as combustion stability, operability, emissions, pressure drop, life, and cost across multiple engine frames.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Design Industrial Gas Turbine Engine components and systems to meet fit, form and functional requirements and design criteria
  • Support the continued development and oversee the adherence to PSM design systems including job folders and documentation, technical reviews, drawings and engineering changes and field validation plans and verification
  • Analyze components to ensure parts maintain appropriate stress levels, meets life requirements and design criteria
  • Utilize appropriate design/analysis tools, such as Creo, ANSYS, Microsoft Excel or similar
  • Lead or support scheduling, project engineering and procurement efforts to ensure timely delivery of components to meet program and company objectives
  • Evaluate supplier quotes and capabilities to ensure supplier can meet quality and schedule requirements
  • Assess needs and identify critical path schedules for design, manufacturing and procurement activities
  • Create, lead and/or deliver presentations to internal and external clients
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM's EHS Training Matrix

Skills/Experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and manufacturing gas turbine engine components and/or large rotating components
  • Strong analytical decision-making and organizational skills are required
  • Experience with 3D CAD software - Creo, NX, Solidworks
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, general machining and fabrication techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to perform hands-on fieldwork is strongly desired
  • Field work and travel may be required (up to 20%)
