Position Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: $100,000-$120,000/yr
Position Summary
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design and support of the manufacturing of corrosion-protected pressure vessels and piping as well as any related tooling for the manufacturing process.

This position includes (but is not limited to) the following essential functions:
Candidate must be able to work as a team lead within a project engineering position to bring a project from conception to fruition.

Candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science in engineering with three to five years of experience in a related field.

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design and support of the manufacturing of corrosion-protected pressure vessels and piping as well as any related tooling for the manufacturing process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position includes (but is not limited to) the following essential functions:
- Manage the design and support activities required for the manufacturing of corrosion-protected pressure vessels and piping and any related tooling for the manufacturing process; activities include producing CAD drawings by utilizing the principles of good mechanical and tool design practice via SOLIDWORKS
- Provide technical support to sales in producing quotations for process equipment, including pipe, vessels, columns, and custom components
- Develop labor and material cost estimates and estimated completion dates for tooling activities and engineering design
- Support the requirements of and resolve engineering- and tool-related problems in production lining and metal fabrication
- Interface with all functions: operations, quality control, purchasing, sales, and the customer
- Ensure that all documents related to work performed on assigned projects are accurate and complete
- Have knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII (required)
- Possess knowledge of ASME calculation software, such as Compress (preferred)
- Possess knowledge of SOLIDWORKS CAD software
- Possess general knowledge of working materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and plastic
- Demonstrate the organizational skills associated with time management on all projects
