Hurco is looking for a Mechanical Director to join our team and collaboratively drive new product development across all our brands! You will lead our Mechanical Engineering Team in researching and implementing innovative solutions that align with our business goals by assessing and addressing market opportunities. Under the direction of the EVP of Engineering, your team will be responsible for (1) researching, presenting, and establishing project deliverables; (2) providing technical support to global manufacturing, field service and application teams; (3) following and improving the engineering processes; (4) generating and maintaining engineering drawings and documents.

Position Duties:
  • Leads a dynamic, collaborative engineering team, cultivating innovation, driving high performance, and consistently delivering measurable results.
  • Directs competitive research, design, and analysis of machines, mechanical systems, and components to meet specified requirements and standards.
  • Leads high-level design and development of new mechanical engineering initiatives and projects.
  • Develops policies and procedures to guide the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems or components.
  • Reviews data and analysis to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems.
  • Oversees the establishment of programs to support training, process improvements, best practices and protocols.
  • Leads initiatives with other departments to identify new potential products and projects.
  • Continuously stays at the forefront of relevant emerging technologies and processes.


Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years related working experience with 5 years prior management experience.
  • Experience with electrical/computer-controlled machinery, mechanical, electrical, controls and software.
  • Versed in manufacturing processes for complex machinery, documentation, and the importance of field service.
  • Proficient in working with cross-collaborative engineering teams and global service teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage global engineering projects and supply chains and assembling large project plans to meet deliverables.
  • Adept at breaking down and communicating complex technical issues to simple manageable tasks and conveying their significance vertically through the organization and to non-technical people.
  • Strong team-building, project management, and problem-solving skills.
