Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will play an instrumental part in translating EnergyX's lithium separation technologies into demonstration-scale leading to commercialization. The role will be part of the Process Engineering team. The position will be responsible for designing, building, troubleshooting, and operating EnergyX pilot and demo projects and lithium separation technology scale-up projects. The position is based in Austin, TX, and international travel (S. America) may be required. Plant experience is required.

Responsibilities
Work on a team of experienced EnergyX scientists and engineers on projects focused on disruptive materials and engineering systems to fundamentally transform scientific aspects of the energy industry including:
- Mechanical engineering designs on DLE projects.
- Develop & review mechanical design activities include equipment sizing and configuration, material selection, multiphase flow system, P&ID development, equipment layout, equipment specifications and hydraulic calculations.
- Develop data sheets for equipment's and values.
- Develop project scope, schedule, and budgets.
- Collaborate with other engineers on project development and integrations.
- Extensive use of SolidWorks/AutoCAD for developing equipment layout, PFD, P&ID, 3D models, Isometric drawings, and GA drawings.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-7 years of experience in Chemical/Mineral Industry.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/chemical engineering
- Previous experience with Engineering companies and EPC firms.
- Experience with CAD and SolidWorks
- Knowledge with different MOC for corrosive environments.
- Knowledge with different design/built codes (ASME, DIN-EN or others)
- Proficiency with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in development, preparation and checking of P&IDs.
- Experience in designing, developing, assembling, and troubleshooting machinery
- Knowledge with process equipment includes piping, valves (manual, control, & relief), pumps, pressure vessels, filters, coalescers, columns, evaporators, mixing tanks, heat exchangers, and reactors.
