Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with over 8 years of professional experience in designing and specifying mechanical systems and sub-systems for Gas & Steam Turbines. You should have experience with related systems, such as: rotating equipment, colling systems, skids, air intake, etc. If you have a passion for precision, innovation, and working with complex mechanical subsystems and structural packages, we want to hear from you.

This role is a remote position; preference given to candidates in Houston or the Central Time zone, as collaboration with international teams is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development: Create mechanical fluid sub-system designs (e.g., Gas/Liquid fuel, Lube Oil, Hydraulic, Water Injection, Coolers, Air systems) and structural package/skids (e.g., base plate, sub-skids).
• Engineering Drawings: Prepare and deliver engineering documentation such as P&IDs, General Arrangement Drawings, Assembly Drawings, redline markups, work instructions, demolition or construction instructions, and API data sheets.
• Calculations and Sizing: Perform pressure drop calculations, valve selections, pump/motor sizing, pressure vessel selection, and stress analyses.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers/drafters on detailed designs, including pipe assemblies, pipe supports, and air duct assemblies. Present solutions in design reviews.
• Project Management: Deliver requirements, risk reviews, designs, drawings, and Bills of Material on time to meet project schedules. Handle multiple projects effectively.
• Procurement Support: Collaborate with procurement teams and suppliers to source systems and components using global procurement documentation.
• Compliance and Standards: Apply industry codes, certification requirements, and standards (API, PED, CSA, ASME, ATEX, NACE, ISO 21789) across regions and countries.
• Expertise: Demonstrate deep knowledge of Gas Turbines (GT) and Steam Turbines

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 8+ years in designing and specifying mechanical systems.
• Skills: Proficient in mechanical subsystem design, engineering calculations, and working with global industry codes and standards. Team-oriented and capable of handling multiple projects in parallel.
