Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design of the mechanical systems and the day-to-day guidance of the mechanical project teams needed to support the design for a variety of facilities projects including commercial facilities, laboratory facilities, and industrial facilities.
- Mechanical systems design including - Utility piping systems commonly found in industrial facilities and associated P&ID's (e.g. steam, cooling water, chilled water, compressed air, etc.), HVAC Systems, Plumbing systems, Fire protection systems, Process ventilation
- Reviews work of others for quality
- Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, permits, and designs for project
- Assists in client contact and communication, and attends client meetings
- Assists in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, and tests, in order to plan and design projects
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
- Performs other duties as required
Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- 5 years' minimum experience, 8+ years preferred
- Professional Engineer license required
- Experience using Revit and AutoCAD required
- Familiarity with International codes including IMC, IPC, IFGC, and IFC required
- Familiarity with design for Federal market and guiding UFC's, a plus
- Familiarity with the ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes, a plus
- Experience with piping stress analysis and/or water/wastewater facilities, a plus
- Experience mentoring early-career engineers and EITs, a plus
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills
