Description

This individual will be responsible for managing projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality mechanical designs for building structures. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong technical background, project management experience, and the ability to mentor and develop team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage MP/FP projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and training to the engineering team.
  • Design and analyze mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, and piping.
  • Conduct heating/cooling load calculations.
  • Review and produce construction documents, drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Assist with field measurements, data collection, site inspections, and commissioning processes.
  • Support business development efforts, including responding to RFQs and participating in project interviews.
  • Supervise and evaluate team performance, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards.


Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Experience: 15+ years in mechanical engineering, preferably within a consulting firm; 7+ years in project management; and relevant leadership experience.

Technical Knowledge:
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, piping, and energy recovery systems.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE guidelines, mechanical/building/energy codes, and design of medical gas systems (a plus).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, and Bluebeam (preferred).

Certifications: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
