Job Summary:
Mechatronics Design Engineer
The mechatronics design engineer (mde) is an in-house design and development role supporting the mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic design of all turnkey projects at Xyntek LLC. The mde will support the different business division leads and technology verticals (vision, robotics, serialization, etc) and work with the other technology leads (robotics, controls, machine vision, software development, etc) to manage and support the design of 3D models and CAD drawings for the Xyntek projects and CXV Global Projects. The mde will ensure that component / system designs meet the specifications for the proposed solutions and follow the industry and Xyntek standards for development.
Xyntek is looking for a self-motivated, and self-managed individual, who will take on the responsibilities for standardization of designs at Xyntek, grow and mentor a mechatronics design team, and help deliver projects to Xyntek clients.
Tasks Include:
Ensure that the drawing sets between projects are maintained on the Xyntek and or client approved templates, and meet all Xyntek, Client, and Industry Standards.
Review responsibilities for all items sent to fabrication and will work with the vendors to ensure the are made to Xyntek expectations.
Work with the Systems Engineers and Technology Specialists to develop rapid prototypes for in-house testing.
Support the conceptual design and costing of proposed solutions for sales opportunities and support sales technical meetings as needed.
Provide internal training and upskilling for Systems Engineers and Automation Specialists. Update and manage the training materials and tools for use by the engineers.
Meet with vendors to confirm solution requirements and component selection. Stay up to date on new / latest technologies for control systems, including attending and supporting industry conferences and networking events.
Act as the escalation point for any mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic system issues which arise during the build, installation, or warranty of a system. The MDE will work and guide the Systems Engineers and Field Technicians when required.
Serve as the company's first point of contact for the customer on design matters for assigned projects.
Develop, as required, appropriate on-site modifications/optimizations to electrical, mechanical and/or pneumatic systems to deliver satisfactory solution performance, while remaining within the initially designed solution specifications.
Demonstrate safety consciousness in equipment design, electrical and electronic procedures, and the unique situations encountered at diverse client sites.
Analyze existing development or manufacturing procedures and suggest improvements.
Create mechanical design documents for parts, assemblies, or finished products.
Support the implementation and testing of custom designs.
Maintain technical project files and drawing sets.
Publish engineering reports documenting design details for white papers and marketing.
Provide consultation or training on topics such as mechatronics.
Requirements
Requirements Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields. Completion of equivalent technical training courses and professional certification and/or previous work experience will also be considered;
Availability to work evening and weekend hours or varying work patterns depending on market needs;
Min 7+ years of design experience (3+ as a Lead / Sr. Design Role)
Possession of a valid driver's license that is in good standing.
