THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to keep up-to-date on constantly changing policies and procedures. The Division of Fiscal Management plays a crucial role in ensuring that all revenue due to the Commonwealth is collected efficiently and effectively. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of billing software and tools, as well as provide consultation services for various medical billing and reimbursement programs. Your knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance will be essential in ensuring that all billing is compliant with state and federal laws. Additionally, you will be required to travel to assigned veterans homes to review procedures, provide guidance and training, and audit reimbursement activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week; 7.5 hours per day)
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will work 2 days a week in the office (5 days a pay period in the office). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Facility Reimbursement Officer (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Six years of experience involving public contact in billing and collecting financial accounts or debts which includes one year of supervisory experience in billing and collecting financial accounts or debts; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of supervisory experience in billing and collecting financial accounts or debts. Completion of college-level work with major course work in business administration, finance, accounting, health care management, or a related field may be substituted for required non-supervisory experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires valid accreditation by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a veterans service officer or eligibility for accreditation within one year from the date of employment.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires a valid Certified Professional Biller (CPB) Certification OR a valid Certified Billing and Coding (CBC) Certification.
- You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap. You must also maintain an Automated Installation Entry (AIE) card once it is issued.
