  • Be part of building a company: We're scaling the team fast and the business faster, meaning there will always be more responsibility than we have people. No better place to get a ton of responsibility and ownership on day 1
  • In person & interdisciplinary: We operate on the frontier of what's technically possible. That is why being in-person is a must. We're bringing together the brightest minds from the top engineering, ML, and accounting teams to work together in our NYC office and build production quality agentic systems
  • High risk: We believe the world is about to change in profound ways. We are building Basis to be on the cutting-edge of that change for a decade to come, and we have an appetite for the risk that comes with that. The journey has just begun

Your mission

Own the system of project management at Basis. We are a team that ships extremely fast, but also systematically - and as we grow we need more organization, structure, systems so we can build a machine. That's your job.

Oh and not just the machine today, what does an extremely high performing engineering team shipping system look like in 2027.

Building a complex technical system.

Comfortable working

Build that.

What you'll actually do
  • Process architect, not project owner
    • You might run some especially complex projects, but the crux of your responsibility is empowering everyone to run their own projects
    • Gather real-time feedback from founders, technical staff, customer facing team, etc; tune the playbook continuously
  • Educate & coach
    • With lots of new tooling and AI-based processes, people will need to learn. It's your job to make that happen
  • Tooling & automation
    • Prototype AI-driven process that leverage agents from start to finish of product development (we'll help you build it)
    • Retire anything that adds friction
    • Keep an eye on frontier LLM/agent capabilities and fold wins into the stack regularly
  • Lead team updates
    • Lead state of union at all-hands
    • Broadcast launch calendars, blockers, and post-mortem insights so everyone sees around corners
  • Continuous improvement culture
    • Facilitate retros, feedback sessions etc. to constantly help everyone improve

Does this sound like you?
  • Have experience building & enforcing process in extremely high growth / low process orgs. Ones where headcount has 5x'd+
  • Prefer enabling many owners over being the owner; instinctively ask "How can 10x more happen with 1/10th oversight?
  • Treat workflow tools like Linear, Retool, Notion etc. as building blocks, not limits; comfortable scripting quick hacks to remove manual work
  • Speaking of, constantly, constantly use LLMs for your own work and have the instinct to have them help you with everything
  • Default to first-principles thinking: you're designing for 2027's AI-native workflows, not 2017's agile ceremonies
  • Thrive in an in-person, high-intensity environment; willing to do whatever's necessary to keep the machine humming.
