Responsibilities
Client Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the mental health, emotional, and psychological needs of clients.
- Use diagnostic screening tools and clinical judgment to diagnose mental health disorders and determine appropriate interventions.
Treatment Planning and Therapy:
- Develop personalized care plans based on assessment findings, client goals, and best practices.
- Provide individual, group, and case management services using evidence-based therapeutic techniques and modalities.
Crisis Intervention:
- Respond to clients in immediate distress and provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Develop crisis management strategies and safety plans to address urgent client needs.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain detailed and accurate client records, including care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries within designated time frame.
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards for documentation and confidentiality.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, social workers, and community resources to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Provide referrals to additional services or resources as needed, and coordinate care with other providers.
- Must be able to carry out the essential duties of the position within what can be considered reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at-risk client population, including embracing the agency's Cultural Humility and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Clinical Director of Non-Residential Services.
Education
- Master's in behavioral science (social work, psychology, counseling, etc.)
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience providing psychotherapy and case management services working with complex behavioral health and substance use challenges in a fast-paced social service drop-in setting.
Skills
- Ability to work with a diverse population- individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders, psychosis, and other severe mental health presentations.
- Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow through with tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
