Mental Health Specialist 1 or 2 - Adult Outpatient - Albany Office
Mental Health Department (Classification 771 and 772)
SEIU Represented Full Time (37.5 hours/week) position
Job Summary
Linn County Mental Health is recruiting for and experienced mental health therapist to work with adult consumers who experience a range of symptoms including PTSD, depression, and anxiety. The person filling this position should be skilled in assessment, individual and group therapy, case management and consultation. Candidates should have familiarity with Evidence Based Practice and have excellent case management and therapy skills. Must be willing to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and follow documentation requirements in accordance with the Oregon Administrative Rules and department policies and procedures. Upgraded skills in medical management information systems to support clinical work would be desired. Travel between work sites may be necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Mental Health Specialist 1:
Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field is required. Professional or supervised practicum-level experience in providing similar services to persons with similar problems or concerns is desirable but not required. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the work described may be acceptable.
Mental Health Specialist 2:
Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field is required. Two years post Master's Degree supervised experience in a similar position. Classification as a Mental Health Specialist 2, in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience, Education and Training Section above requires Oregon licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Must be able to pass a criminal history check and possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver's license with an acceptable driving record that meets the County's requirements.
Special Requirements
This is a non-supervisory position. Lead work and coordination of work of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. Incumbents in this position may provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel.
