Description:

Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgy or related field but Master of Science degree in metallurgy or related field preferred. 10+ years of metallurgical, technical, or Casting department project management. 15+ years of aluminum manufacturing experience. Other preferred experience includes: Aluminum slab casting, project management, customer interface (quality control, etc.), proficient in ISO 9001, Quality Processes and Procedures, extensive knowledge of SAP Operating / Management System, and knowledge of aluminum alloys
Roles and Responsibilities:

Learn, accept and live the company's Safety Mission Statement

Ensure customer satisfaction relative to:
  • In time delivery performance
  • Development of operational fitness to secure/preserve high-margin contracts
  • Assessment of planning schedules to optimize production.

Assess market opportunities based upon:
  • Modifying product mix given near-term product premiums and company-wide production capabilities/costs
  • Participate in developing casting practices in cast house
  • Handle customer complaints
  • Process audits results
  • Scrap supervision
  • Capital investment to facilitate entry/expansion into new products

Supervision of shipping crew:
  • Lead and direct a shipping Crew to optimize performance
  • Control and analyze expenses for associated cost center
  • Improving process/quality documentation from both an ISO and corporate consistency perspective
  • Develop and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Conduct research and analysis to improve casting quality and reduce costs
  • Identify and test alternative raw materials and sources

Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of performance reporting in the department.

Respond proactively to requests from others for additional or modified reports.

In conjunction with the technical department, work to refine and improve casting software.

Special project assignments.
