Are you a results-driven quality professional with a passion for excellence in defense technology? BAE Systems - Combat Mission Systems is seeking highly qualified Quality Managers for its Ground and Amphibious Vehicle Portfolios. The Product Line Quality Manager (PLQM) will be the primary authority on quality for the assigned product line, championing contractual compliance, driving continuous improvement in an ISO 9001 environment, and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver reliable defense technologies for mission-critical programs.
The Product Line Quality Manager (PLQM) serves as the day-to-day Quality Point of Contact for the Product Line Leads and is the manager of the Quality Product Line support staff, to include Quality Program Managers (QPMs). The PLQM is the single point of contact for Quality for senior leadership, ensuring that quality standards are met across all operations. This role is critical to driving the health and compliance of the product lines, focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.

As the PLQM, you will:
- Metrics & Improvement: Monitor quality performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, implement corrective and preventive actions, and proactively address potential risks.
- Maintain Compliance: Manage internal audits and ensure strict adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Lead Structured Problem-Solving Activities: Utilizing a risk-based approach to investigate quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate Effectively: Partner with Program Managers and Integrated Product Team to seamlessly integrate quality into all project phases, from proposal to production.
- Financial Acumen: Approve Basis of Estimates (BOE) for Quality functions in proposal bids, Develop and manage Control Account budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
- Leadership: Direct, mentor, and develop your team, to include Quality Program Managers, ensuring robust quality plans, adherence to standards, and timely resolution of issues, while fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
- Customer Focus: Build strong relationships with customers, responding promptly to concerns, and representing BAE Systems' commitment to quality.
- Communication: Ensure awareness of key stakeholders of potentials risks, opportunities, lessons learned, and/or threats to the business.
Required Skills and Education
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, and ten (10) years related experience;
- Experience supporting Quality Assurance/Program Management within DoD contracts;
- Must be a confident leader with five (5) years experience in a supervisory or management role;
- Possess technical proficiency in ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), problem-solving techniques (e.g., A3, DMAIC);
- Highly effective communication skills;
- Able to successfully engage, collaborate, and nurture relationships with the customer;
- Proven problem-solver;
- Financial acumen;
- While this role is hybrid-friendly, must be based within a reasonable commute to one of these 4 locations: York, PA or Anniston, AL or Sterling Heights, MI or Elgin, OK.

Preferred Skills and Education
- Master's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field;
- Experience implementing new quality requirements in low-rate, technically complex product environments;
- Experience utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP);
- Certifications in ASQ (e.g., CQE, CQM/OE), PMP, Lean Six Sigma.
