The Manager, People Systems leads a team of systems analysts in the configuration and operational support of various applications. This role serves as an operational and tactical leader for the HRIS platform and support organization. The manager collaborates with the functional and portfolio owners and various stakeholders. A trusted advisor, the manager is an applications subject matter expert, primarily in the Workday HCM application. The role will focus on innovation through automation, process improvement, system enhancements, and improved efficiencies and scalability.

Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday HCM/Payroll (US), iCIMS applicant tracking system, Cornerstone (Learning and Talent), and Anaplan (Incentive Comp).
- Manage and provide leadership to HRIS/systems analysts; manage and prioritize work effort, ensuring timely and effective project delivery, and drive innovation and a best-in-class user experience.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, coaching and development to team members; foster a collaborative environment.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and solution architect for existing and new functionality, primarily in Workday HCM/Payroll.
- Partner with People/HR functional areas, Information Technology, Finance, and business leaders on system related processes and projects, including complex integrations.
- Collaborate with the team and portfolio owners, manage system release and upgrades with thorough review, impact assessment, testing, and deployment of new features.
- Work closely with the People Systems Admin/Operations team to provide ad-hoc support and recommend process improvements and efficiency through technology.
- Contribute to the People technology strategy and plan; align with business goals and priorities.
- Oversee and improve overall system security, data integrity, and compliance ensuring effective data and system governance within the People department.
- Stay up to date on trends and emerging technologies, proactively drive recommendations and deliverables that align with PDS goals and priorities.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology/Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Human Resources or related field from an accredited college or university. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience.
- 6+ years of professional experience with Workday HCM/Payroll implementations and support, acting as Lead Analyst, Solution Architect, Project Manager and/or HRIS Manager.
- 2+ years of leadership experience leading, developing, and managing a team of system and business analysts.
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, with strong project management skills utilizing software development lifecycle and/or Agile methodologies.
- Hands-on experience preparing specifications, test plans, process flows, and cutover plans.
- Demonstrated People/HR technology planning experience; leading conversations with multiple stakeholders to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and collaboratively design solutions.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Business, Information Technology/Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Human Resources, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Workday Pro Certified (HCM Core, Compensation, Security, Reporting).
- Experience in a multi-regional healthcare, retail, or dental company.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of Workday HCM platform, architecture and configuration (Business Processes, US Payroll, Benefits, Absence and Time, Compensation, Security, Reporting and Dashboards).
- Demonstrated excellent consultative and written and verbal communications skills; ability to communicate with various levels of staff and leadership.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities; data analysis acumen and focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge and understanding of HR/Payroll functional areas and HR business processes; interdependencies and complex integrations with Information Technology and Finance.
- Ability to manage daily operations of department(s) or work unit while developing short to medium term (1-3 years) goals.
- Ability to foster team member development by providing a supportive learning environment.
- Highly developed teambuilding, influencing and collaboration skills.
- Ability to direct the work of others and work as a team leader in attainment of goals.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
- Ability to handle and maintain extreme confidentiality with team member records, compensation information, etc.
- Ability to draw valid conclusions; apply sound judgment in making decisions and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat.
