Job Title: Manager, Research Laboratory
Job Duties: Rush University Medical Center seeks a Manager, Research Laboratory in Chicago, IL to manage clinical cancer informatics data. Oversee development, implementation, and training of best practices for data extraction, data analytics, data visualization, and statistical analysis. Oversee the validation and implementation of data analytics. Monitor, regulate, and adjust workflows to ensure tasks are completed on time. Evaluate clinical data quality and accuracy, conduct data analysis, create data visualizations, and collaborate with the statistical core to validate results. Coordinate study design including the preparation of scientific manuscripts. Train lab personnel including data analysts, graduate students, medical students, residents, fellows, and post-doctoral research fellows. Coordinate with local, national, and international collaborators to ensure successful research endeavors. Review, analyze, interpret, summarize, format, edit, and prepare tables, graphs, for grant applications/progress reports, publications, and presentations, utilizing EPIC Clarity, SQL, R statistical package, and Tableau as needed. Obtain appropriate regulatory approvals for all research activities as needed (Institutional Review Board and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee). Ensure materials transfer and data agreements are properly executed. Oversee all stages of grant preparation, submission, and post-award. Develop grant budgets and make spending recommendations in consultation with study Principal Investigators and collaborators as appropriate. Manage post-award phase of grants including reporting and assisting in the preparation and submission of progress reports. Develop, modify, and monitor continuous improvement initiatives and goals. Telecommuting permitted up to 5 days per week.
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Master's degree in Applied Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience as a data analyst or a related occupation. Experience must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: (1) clinical data analyses and use of EMR including EPIC; (2) EPIC Clarity database; (3) SQL and R statistical package; (4) building dynamic dashboards in Tableau to identify and track key metrics; and (5) preparing and submitting manuscripts or abstracts related to projects.
