Job Description
The Mgr, Technical Solution is responsible for leading a team of technical professionals and driving the successful delivery of technical solutions. This position requires a unique blend of people management, technical expertise, project management capabilities, and product management acumen to lead and align the technical architecture of IT solutions for the organization globally. This management position approves solution architecture and manages all financial, technical, and human resources supporting end-to-end IT solution lifecycle ownership. This position provides vision and direction to customers on how technology can be used to increase user productivity, solve complex business problems, and support the mission of the organization.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and oversight, driving the development and implementation of the team's technical architecture and ensuring it aligns with business goals and industry best practices
Assist partner departments with the development of data engineering technology roadmaps that align with their business needs
Lead and manage a team of technical professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, providing mentorship, coaching, and career development opportunities. Employs the Leadership Pattern in all aspects of the role.
Promote and support portfolio, division, and department strategies and goals
Lead and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, including project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and successful project delivery
Apply technical expertise to guide the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring they meet architectural principles, quality standards, scalability, and performance requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration and successful implementation of technical solutions
Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, identify issues, and propose innovative solutions to enhance product functional and user experience
Collaborate closely with product managers to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and drive the product roadmap
Execute portfolio and project plans
Develop proposed budgets with business justifications, time frame, and impact; manage approved budgets
Conduct regular technical reviews and audits to ensure adherence to coding standards, security protocols, and quality assurance processes
Continuously improve team performance and efficiency by implementing Agile methodologies, optimizing workflows, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
Regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce).
This position is authorized, in partnership with HR, to hire or fire employees and recommend advancement, promotion or any other change of status of employees within the assigned reporting line

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
- 12 years of progressive experience managing technical solutions or engineering professionals
- Three years of people management responsibility within a technology organization
- Six years of experience in data engineering
- Proven experience in technical solution management, people management, product management, and technical architecture
- Strong business acumen with understanding of how business needs are facilitated by technology
- Demonstrated success building, deploying and operating enterprise-class solutions.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop high-performing teams
- Solid technical background with proficiency in software development methodologies and technical architecture principles
- Understanding of product management principles, including product lifecycle management, requirement gathering, and product road mapping
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions
- Expert project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project deadlines
- Demonstrated IT operational experience, including managing a complex budget, resource management and metrics
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools, such as Scrum or Kanban
- This job operates in a professional office environment
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment
Preferred:
- Master's degree
- Experience with cloud computing, APIs, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices is highly desirable
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or AWS Certified Solution Architect, are a plus
