Under general direction, develops, implements, coordinates, trains and supervises activities and operations of migrant identification and recruitment program functions, and provides technical program assistance.?

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

  • Concepts, procedures, strategies, and resources related to identification and recruitment of migrant families?
  • Applicable county, state, federal provisions, laws and regulations, and program policies and procedures related to migrant education??
  • Review and approval process of certificates of eligibility of migrant education families??
  • Methods, strategies, and techniques to providing technical assistance related to identification and recruitment of migratory students??
  • Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements

Required Education and ExperienceEducation: A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in social services, sociology, business administration, public administration, communications, education, psychology, or other field closely related to the job requirements, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible Identification and recruitment experience in a specialized area related to Migrant Education programs and services.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19. Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a performance examination and technical interview.
