NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

NextStar Energy is seeking a motivated and experienced Vision/ Inspection Engineer to join the team.
As a Vision/Inspection Engineer you will be able to do following but not limited:
- Able to analyze data collected from machine vision systems to identify patterns of defects and root causes, facilitating targeted improvements in manufacturing processes.
- Able to perform regular system audits and data evaluations to assess the effectiveness of vision algorithms and make recommendations for enhancements.
- Able to utilize statistical analysis tools to interpret inspection results, providing insights that drive quality control initiatives and reduce defect rates.
- Able to Implement corrective actions based on data findings to resolve issues within the vision system, optimizing performance and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Able to collaborate with software engineers to refine algorithms based on data-driven insights, enhancing the system's ability to detect subtle defects.
- Able to generate detailed reports on inspection data that outline trends, anomalies, and recommendations for process adjustments, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Able to monitor real-time data streams from vision systems to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact production quality.
- Familiarity with vision measurement systems and techniques for precise dimensional analysis, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.
- Parameter standardization and control plan establishment/revision.
- Prepare, process, revise and update process documents (PFD, PFMEA, CP).
- Perform 4M Process and other Verification tests in accordance with EC Table, and evaluate the results and consult with related department then make revision and share the information through systems.
- Conducting internal and external customer audit and also respond to all quality related issues with customers.
- Establishing, revising, updating PFD, PD Manuals.
- Perform Production release and process quality check after PD/CM/Model changes.
- Compliant with health/safety/environmental/fire regulations and 3R5S standards.
- Able to train, develop and educate other technicians.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electronic/Electrical)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office 365 skills, including Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft access
- A self-motivated problem solver that is able to troubleshoot and disciplining documentation of findings and apply their hand-on experience based on automotive and industry standards using their mechanical and engineering knowledge.
- An individual with an Exposure in manufacturing/production setting, preferably in battery manufacturing.
- Willing and able to travel and train abroad for up to 6-12 month if required.
Preferred Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement or manufacturing in a highly automated and/or automotive engineering environment.
