Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
Execute Assessments on Complex Mold Tooling to Ensure Process Capability.
Consultation for Molded Products & Mold Tooling
Comprehensive Knowledge of Machine Tool Technology & Component Manufacturing Processes.
Molding Research and Development
Projects involved with:
o Concept reviews for new product introductions.
o Continuous improvement projects associated with equipment and processes.
o Research support for new molding technologies.
o Performance Excellence Projects.
o Urgent process-related issues impacting product quality or delivery.
o Utilization of existing quality programs to support advanced problem-solving activities.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with injection mold tooling & comprehensive understanding of polymer resins; Or 3+ years of hands-on bench work with PM, assessments, & repair of injection mold; 3+ years of plastic product and assembly design
Ability to operate machine tools
Strong project management and execution of administrative tasks
Detailed knowledge of all types of injection mold tooling
Ability to utilize all MS Office applications
Knowledge of tool steels and metallurgical properties
Thorough understanding of injection mold processing parameters and applications (cause and affect)
Ability to trouble shoot with advanced problem solving tools
Affective verbal and written communication
Ability to lead or participate in cross-functional teams
Functional with 3D CAD & CAM software
Ability to travel (domestic and international)
Influence ability to lead and train without direct supervision
Desired Qualifications:
Mold flow technology
Mold set-up and processing capability
Familiarity with automation processes
Travel:
Up to 50%
This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $126,354.00 - $173,737.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
