This vacancy is located in Baton Rouge at the Office of Motor Vehicles Headquarters, Vehicle Information Unit in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been in the administration or enforcement of state driver's license or motor vehicle laws:

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent plus six years of experience in any field.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the general experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
May be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license at the time of appointment.

FUNCTION OF WORK:
To plan, manage, and direct computer programs relative to the Office of Motor Vehicles; to manage the statewide staff development training and help desk functions relative to the Office of Motor Vehicles; to manage the information systems (Internet/Intranet, Automated Conversant System and Call Distribution Center) relative to the Office of Motor Vehicles; to manage a regional compliance review program for the Office of Motor Vehicles.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Broad review from Motor Vehicle Manager 2 or higher-level administrator.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct supervision over Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 1, 2, 3, and 4.

LOCATION OF WORK:
Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services, Office of Motor Vehicles.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 4 by the presence of management of the training/help desk/compliance review/computer programs, or information systems for the Office of Motor Vehicles.

Differs from Motor Vehicle Manager 2 by the absence of serving as an assistant to the Motor Vehicle Administrator or management of the privatized public tag agents or contracted driver education agents.

Examples of Work
EXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.

Identifies, researches and proposes solutions to data programming problems. Consults with Information Systems project leaders on new, updated and future programming.

Tests new and revised computer programs before implementation. Advises management, trainers, and internal auditors of changes and formulates procedures to follow.

Supervises subordinates who provide technical assistance to employees less experienced or less familiar with specific programming operations in the issuance of driver licenses or vehicle registrations and titles and/or reinstatement.

Assigns and reviews work of subordinates, approves/disapproves leave requests, counsels with employees relative to various matters, conducts performance planning and evaluations, interviews and makes recommendation for selection, responsible for work quality and production of staff.

Administers the formulation of policies and procedures necessary to comply with legislative, administrative, and programming changes.

Confers with internal and legislative auditors to resolve discrepancies found during their audits of field offices and/or public tag agents. .

Monitors subordinates in the conducting of classroom training and hands-on instruction.

Designs and conducts initial training for new and expanded programs.

Develops and produces documentation, informational campaigns, correspondence, press releases and alerts for dissemination to the media and to international, federal, state and local executive, judicial, legislative and administrative officials and operatives, industry and private sector entities, and community education and public awareness representatives and to agency personnel.

Manages response for all inquiries from news media and all other sources about events related to agency operations, and acts as the agency representative for all broadcast, print and electronic media interviews.

Coordinates and manages the Call Distribution Center.

Manages the operations of the Property Control Officer and forms coordinator for the Office of Motor Vehicles.

Supervises all aspects of the compliance review program relative to vehicle registration, driver's license, and reinstatement including assigning work to subordinate employees; reviewing, approving, and directing revisions of individual audit plans and reports; and providing guidance regarding audit plan development and audits conducted.
