Position Summary:
The MRI Manager collaborates with medical leadership in the development and implementation of programs/systems that ensure consistent evaluation and treatment based on patient needs. They maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical and clinical requirements in the department, ensuring that standards of practice are developed, communicated, implemented, and evaluated effectively. The MRI Manager applies service standards to the MRI department and maintains communication with radiologists to ensure optimal clinical quality. They also develop and sustain a continuous quality improvement program within the department, consistent with relevant guidelines and regulatory requirements. The MRI Manager monitors patient satisfaction regularly, taking appropriate action based on feedback. Monthly reports are provided to department and senior leadership, which include updates on quality and financial improvement initiatives, progress on goals, and resource utilization related to outcomes measurement.
This role is responsible for fiscal, human resources, and quality outcomes within the MRI service across multiple sites. The MRI Manager places a high priority on the needs of patients and customers, demonstrating the necessary skills to exceed expectations. They focus the team on a clear and communicated vision, engage individuals and groups to achieve it, and foster the development of organizational talent. Continuous learning for self and others is encouraged. Staff and patient safety are top priorities, and the position involves overseeing the safety training and education of technologists and leading the MRI safety committee. Required Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills to collect and analyze operational data
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in MRI as a technologist or in a supervisory role in an acute care facility
- Knowledge of electronic medical/health records
- In-depth knowledge of MRI and MRI safety
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Tech program
- Experience in developing and implementing effective MRI policies, procedures, and protocols
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills to interact effectively with staff, patients, and other medical personnel
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting processes, including managing income, expenses, and variances
- In-depth knowledge of MRI operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Strong leadership skills and experience in project coordination
- Proven ability to organize operations efficiently and improve processes, protocols, and technology
- Current and working knowledge of relevant regulatory agency standards
- Current BLS certification
- Conflict resolution skills to address personnel issues and foster cooperative relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Access)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and management experience
- Ability to identify priorities and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization
- Ability to make sound judgments in ambiguous situations and manage change effectively
- RT - MRI certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior successful management experience, particularly in a large healthcare organization or academic medical center
- MRSO certification
- Advanced administrative degree (M.S., M.H.A., M.P.H., M.B.A.)
