Job Description
The hardware developer supports designing, testing, and maintaining software and hardware in support of GMD Element modeling and simulation (M&S). This role will primarily focus on developing and maintaining the hardware and software environment that supports M&S activities but may include operation of M&S Tools. Successful applicants possess experience in many of the following applications and tools.

Job Description

Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related scientific field
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification
Required Skills:
- Experience with real-time and digital simulation software
- Experience with a Linux-based operating system (RedHat preferred)
- Experience with the application and review of STIG settings
- Experience developing installation media for initial operating system installation and operating system patching
- Familiarity with package repositories and package management utilities
- Familiarity with Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs)
- Familiarity reading and evaluating Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) reports
Possesses experience in many of the following applications and tools:
- Programming Languages (C++, Java, Ada)
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows
- Experience using software project lifecycle tools (e.g. version control, automated build systems, bug tracking, requirements management)
Desired Skills:
In addition to the required skill list above, the ideal candidate will have some level of familiarity with the following:
- Basic Linux System Administration
- Experience with: Docker/Kubernetes, Cameo, and Coverity/Fortify
- Experience working with ansible
- GIT/GitLab
- Agile development processes
- Shell scripting (Bash, but any scripting experience will suffice)
