Job Description
Job Title: Multimodality Technologist
Job Specialty: Imaging
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-Hour Days, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum one year of experience required
License: Florida state license for X-ray required
Certifications: ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) in Mammography required
Must-Have:
- Mammography experience
- Willingness to float between X-ray and Dexa
Job Description:
- Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections, and use aseptic injection techniques.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Effectively communicate with customers and radiologists.
- Train new technologists and/or PCs.
- Troubleshoot scanners, coaches, and peripheral equipment including monitors and PACS.
- Perform mid-day moves of equipment or patients as needed.
- Use strong customer service, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Apply basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
- Comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements, if applicable.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk more than 50% of the time.
- Perform repetitive movements of hands, arms, and legs.
- See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients effectively.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and balance.
- Ability to carry and lift, including moving non-ambulatory patients for transfers or exams.
Additional Information:
The primary modality is Mammography, with the need to flex to X-ray and Dexa when volume is lower. The Mammography technologist must be confident in both diagnostic and screening mammograms and should be experienced in performing weekly quality control (QC). Experience with Ikonopedia software is a plus. The primary mammomat is a GE Pristina 3D, the X-ray system is a GE Brivo CR, and the Dexa unit is a Hologic Discovery QDR. An active state driver's license is required.
