Hartford HealthCare's Ayer Neuroscience Institute seeks a visionary, fellowship-trained, full-time Neuroimmunologist to serve as Fairfield Region Medical Director for Hartford HealthCare's Multiple Sclerosis Center in Fairfield, CT.
The Ayer Neuroscience Institute is a rapidly expanding Institute with a focus on comprehensive patient care, academics, and research. The Institute enjoys the resources of a system committed to excellence in patient quality and experience and boasts an impressive staff of world class Neuroscience leaders which includes over 200 Neuroscience physicians and advanced practitioners. We are an academic institution affiliated with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Quinnipiac University Medical School. We are actively involved in medical education of students, residents and fellows.
The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Center is a multidisciplinary program that is dedicated to diagnosing and treating patients with neurological diseases of the immune and nervous system. The comprehensive, integrated nature of our services earned us the prestigious Center for Comprehensive MS Care designation by the National MS Society. Our expanding MS program operates two care centers, with a third location opening in Fairfield County this year. This multi-specialty patient care setting offers a newly renovated onsite specialty care clinic including an advanced infusion center with 12 private infusion bays. The MS Center will be conveniently co-located with services including Primary Care, Rheumatology, Multi-Specialty Infusion, Digestive Health, and more, making it the ideal location for patients to establish MS Care.
The Fairfield Region Medical Director will provide visionary leadership, direction, and oversight over the Multiple Sclerosis Center in the Fairfield Region. Supporting overall programmatic growth and development, the Director will champion the seamless delivery of advanced MS care, facilitate the development of standardized practices and clinical pathways, recruit and supervise faculty and practice personnel, collaborate effectively with providers across multiple disciplines, and promote a positive, patient-centric atmosphere to ensure optimal patient care, continued improvement, and staff satisfaction.
The ideal candidate for this dynamic leadership opportunity is a medical professional who is a BE/BC Neuroimmunologist.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Leadership and oversight of Hartford HealthCare's Multiple Sclerosis Center in the Fairfield Region, in collaboration with physician and administrative leadership of the Ayer Neuroscience Institute.
Provide personalized, coordinated outpatient evaluation and care of neuroimmunology patients with no call, weekend, or holiday shifts.
Provide physician leadership oversight of onsite infusion center and staff to ensure optimal experience for MS and neuroimmunology patients.
Facilitate the development and implementation of standardized practices and clinical pathways to ensure highest standards of care for MS patients are met.
Assist with the establishment and development of comprehensive, integrated Multiple Sclerosis Center in the Fairfield Region.
Establish and participate in training of students, residents, and potential fellows about the diagnosis and treatment of neuroimmunology.
Ensure seamless access and efficient patient throughput.
Ensure interdisciplinary team provides each patient with an individualized and comprehensive assessment and meets the highest levels of patient experience.
Promote an atmosphere of positive, effective interaction and facilitate relationships between and among providers and Hartford HealthCare.
Initiate clinical research programs related to neuroimmunology.
Participate in the Department of Neurology activities related to patient care, teaching, research and related matters.
Participate in the Neuroimmunology Clinical Council meetings, with representation from multiple disciplines, regions and care venues.
Collaborate with other councils, regions, institutes, departments and providers to form a seamless care continuum
