MONROE-WOODBURY is seeking a CSE Chairperson. Must be available to work additional days during the summer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- NYS School Psychologist or Special Education Teacher Certification
- Must meet NYSED fingerprinting requirements
CHARACTERISTICS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
- At least three to five years of successful work experience in school district setting, chairing CSE/ 504 meetings
- Thorough understanding of CSE/504 guidelines and regulations as related to Special Education program and services
- Extensive knowledge of psychological and educational testing
- Ability to problem solve and work effectively with families and various agencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written and digital)
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
DUTIES:
- Implement and maintain procedures relevant to the CSE/504 process
- Ensure that all students referred to CSE/504 receive the necessary evaluations
- Chair CSE/504 meetings
- Works cooperatively with parents, agencies and school staff regarding appropriate educational programs for students
- Stay apprised of all NYS laws and regulations pertaining to special education services for school age students
