YOUR ROLE

Responsible for the overall Air Logistics product in Central Canada, inbound and outbound. This is a diverse role including the management of the Field Sales team and building strong collaborative ties with business development roles that will support the organic and fresh business development of Air Logistics in Central Canada and the successful implementation and execution via the Operational Key Account Management team and Customer Care team. This role has direct responsibility of the overall financial health of the product for the Region, the management of resource allocations and the overall experience of both employee and customer.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership to all department staff and guide the growth of the product and the people in Central Canada
  • Manage all people related matters for the BU with the support of HR and BD and assist with branch activities in reference to the Air Logistics BU and the region as a whole
  • Keep all stakeholders in the region informed on product and BU initiatives that will impact processes, people and/or customers and develop a change management and communication plan as needed
  • Promote Kuehne+Nagel's organizational strategy (Roadmap 2026/Vision 2030) within your region and market
  • Ensure complete compliance with all QSHE and legal requirements that promote a healthy and safe work environment and promote our brand to key vertical customers (e.g. Healthcare)
  • Be familiar with Kuehne+Nagel's social programs and encourage individual team members to become an active participant
  • Manage Field Sales Team, and drive business development for your region thru collaboration with National Business Development and Trade teams
  • Identify growth opportunities for the business and market work to increase market share
  • Identify potential customers and markets and develop products and services based on their needs
  • Actively manage customer retention and growth
  • Encourage cross selling activities with Sales and CCR teams
  • Conduct regular team meetings to share information, promote feedback and drive engagement
  • Regular individual meetings to collaboratively develop learning and development opportunities
  • Understand the feedback from employee surveys and develop action plans to drive employee satisfaction
  • Ensure a strong, collaborative environment within the BU and other Departments (BU's/FU's/OCC/RCC)
  • Responsible for Regional Air Logistics performance, forecasting and development
  • P&L ownership and management
  • Maximize profitability of the product in the region
  • Manage all KPIs for the region
  • Identity cost savings opportunities, identify process and procedural improvements
  • Other responsibilities, duties and tasks as assigned by the company


YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • 10 years on-the-job experience, 5 years in management
  • Vast and diverse knowledge of Air Logistics services including standard cargo, temperature-controlled, charter
  • Preferred if candidate holds an undergraduate degree or college certificate
  • Proactive and customer focused, prior Business Development and/or Customer Service experience an asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Effective presentation and customer relations skills, with excellent listening skills
