POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of National Ancillary Strategy to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide guidance and strategic direction to the sales team and client experience staff, focusing on benefits such as long-term and short-term disability, life insurance, and leave management. The candidate would be responsible for establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with our carrier partners and managing negotiations related to compensation contracts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide strategic direction and support to sales and service colleagues in the areas of short- and long-term disability, life insurance, and leave management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners at a national level to enhance overall performance and service delivery.
  • Lead contract negotiation processes with carrier partners, ensuring beneficial terms and conditions for our company and clients.
  • Understand, interpret, and provide guidance around complex contract terms within disability and leave management policies.
  • Create strategic goals for ancillary products and services based on industry trends, competitor analysis, and company objectives.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact for ancillary benefits inquiries and issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate policy and regulatory changes that may impact ancillary benefits and incorporate them into strategic planning and process improvements.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Proven experience in strategy development and implementation.
  • Deep understanding of disability and leave management policies, contract terms, and negotiation strategies.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with ability to work with carrier partners and negotiate advantageous terms.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to influence and guide sales and service teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in insurance or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the employee benefits industry, specifically with a background in ancillary benefits.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Position is hybrid in Tampa, Florida
