SUMMARY

The National Sales Manager (NSM) Heat Exchanger & Mechanics, North America position, cultivates and develops direct relationships with accounts in HVAC/R market for the purpose of driving revenue through all the channels in North America (OEM, PROJECT and DEALER).

This candidate will be asked to solidify existing accounts relationships as well as develop new customers.

A successful NSM builds strategic partnerships with different accounts.

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated professional sales knowledge and skill.

Experience selling in commercial, Industrial and data center application - segment, is necessary.

This role is responsible for the development and growth of Heat Exchanger and Mechanics products in North American

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Able to communicate in a professional manner with all levels within an organization, internal and within customer organization, including C-level, director-level as well as key stakeholders in workgroups such as R&D, Operations, Marketing, Field Installation & Support Services, and Software
  • Performs customer research, qualifies potential business according to Carel's stated strategic profile and builds and maintains a healthy new business funnel
  • Prepare for customer meetings prior to meetings with each customer to provide value at every meeting to ensure a successful outcome
  • Sales leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with Managing Directors and Regional Sales Managers
  • Works with Regional Sales Managers and Managing Directors to coordinate strategic and tactical responsibilities
  • Collaborates with project managers, engineers, field technicians and other technical specialists as needed
  • Identifies known gaps and proposes continuous improvement ideas
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and system integrators to advance end-user engagements
  • Upholds mandatory documentation in CRM
  • Assist in markets analysis and provides ideas for new products or services
  • Provides feedback to the product development function and facilitates meetings between customers and partners with internal product marketing and R&D roles when appropriate
  • Attendance at HVAC/R trade shows is expected
  • 40% to 60% travel, including overnight and international travel is required.
  • Develop and maintain an extensive network of contacts, an assigned customer base and a complete pipeline of opportunities that ensure sales goals
  • Identify and respond to customer needs, including generating quotes, technical support, technical data, specification compliance, engineering submittals and commissioning
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns and implementing corrective action
  • Responsible for creating and delivering technical sales presentations to prospective clients
  • Works with Regional Sales Managers to split and coordinate strategic and tactical responsibilities
  • Collaborates with project managers, engineers, field technicians, and other technical specialists
  • Collaborates with internal specialists to organize customer or partner technical support and training
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each ESSENTIAL DUTY satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION

4 year university degree or equivalent experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required.

Candidate must be good at listening and relating to various types of stakeholders and clients.

REASONING SKILLS

A high degree of business aptitude and acumen is essential.

EXPERIENCE

Five (5) or more years of professional sales experience selling in the HVAC/R industry.

National Sales experience is ideal. A corporate environment using a top-down methodology or equivalent is required. Experience positioning and selling strategic solutions for accomplishing both short and long term objectives.

COMPETENCIES

Candidate should be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word. (Experience using Outlook and Office 365)

Self-motivation is a critical component to this position. This role requires a high degree of performance with low supervision.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The candidate must be fluent in English. Spanish is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Sufficient to monetize value of products and services and calculate a break even milestone.
