ManTech seeks a highly motivated, career and customer-oriented Navy Combat Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. This is an onsite position.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing Systems Engineering support to the customers Technical Director in support of combat systems development and integration on the Zumwalt-class destroyers.

The projected compensation range for this position is $96,100.00-$159,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. ManTech seeks a highly motivated, career and customer-oriented Navy Combat Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. This is an onsite position.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing Systems Engineering support to the customers Technical Director in support of combat systems development and integration on the Zumwalt-class destroyers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert advising the Technical Director on all matters related to systems engineering and integration of combat systems on the Zumwalt ship class
- Develop briefing materials, meeting agendas, minutes, and track resolution of action items
- Directly support the Technical Director in development and management of programmatic areas including but not limited to the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) process and Risk Management
- Work independently and advise senior naval personnel on a wide range of Naval Combat systems engineering matters
- Identify, report, and assist with the resolution of program issues
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline OR Associates Degree and 8+ years of experience with Navy Combat Systems OR a High School Diploma and 11+ years of experience with Navy Combat Systems
- 5+ years of experience in Navy Combat Systems
- Understanding of the Navy Program Objective Memorandum (POM) process
- Experience with Risk Management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active-duty Navy experience in AEGIS combat systems
Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required and an active Secret Security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
