L3 Storage Admin
Milpitas, CA
Should have minimum 7 - 8 years overall IT Experience in Enterprise storage.
Minimum 5 years working Experience on SAN/NAS storage Management, performance tuning, capacity planning and troubleshooting (NetApp, HPE 3PAR, EMC, Tegile and Cloud storage)
Fiber Switches/Directors from Cisco, Brocade (Zoning / VSAN / ISL setup, Performance analysis & Troubleshooting )
Experience in handling firmware upgrade, scaling and migration of storage arrays
Ability to handle migrations on SAN and NAS by coordinating with server\application teams
Expertise in troubleshooting of LUN/NFS/ CIFS/ ISCSI, Q-Trees & quota related issues
Hands on experience in RAID Levels, DAS, Snap shots, snap cloning & replication methods
Ability to handle critical incidents and to work with support teams towards resolution
Ability to troubleshoot and review storage performance related issues
Working knowledge on Unix and/or Windows platform ( i.e. LUN configuration, Multi path configuration & basic troubleshooting from the Host side )
Familiarity to File System, Database, Backup and basic Networking
Should be familiar with ITIL processes
Responsibilities
- Provide day to day L3 support for critical and priority operational activities for Storage team -SAN infrastructure, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) and Archival and Retrieval
- Sync with offshore team and management for any operational tasks and planned maintenance activities that need approval from client
- Troubleshooting on critical issues, problem analysis, performance tuning and capacity planning of storage arrays.
- Work with vendor support for business impacting issues and coordinate with account managers if required
- Coordinating between onsite and offshore teams for any major incidents and planned activities
- Understanding the end-client requirements and delivering the new solution.
- Draft roadmap for planned infrastructure changes and storage migrations
- Interacting with end users and work with client to consult solution for storage related issues
- Planning for new storage implementations and infrastructure build
- Define roles and tasks for L1/L2 individuals
- Documentation and verification of the processes and infrastructure
