The Network administrator is responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, installing, and supporting a company's network. Designs and installs LANs, WANs, Internet, internal and transport network, and network segments. This position also needs to be highly security sensitive and be able to understand the security requirement of the company, Team Telecom and the shareholder, NTT DOCOMO.

This position will need to have network designing, configuration and management background and excellent communication skills, be a creative problem solver, work well in cross team environments and be flexible to work at middle of the night or weekend if needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish network specifications by conferring with stakeholders and customers; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Design and plan network upgrade; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements. Plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
  • Review current network design and create a network diagram and service mapping on each device/port.
  • Keep current services up and maintain the system that provides the services.
  • Monitor network KPIs such as availability, utilization, throughput, latency, packet loss and jitter etc. and optimize network configuration, perform improvement.
  • The network monitoring and log analysis will be also required in order to identify possible security attacks from outside and/or inside. Perform vulnerability scans and oversee physical and logical penetration tests. Including:
  • Event and info. mgmt.
  • Device monitoring and mgmt.
  • Infrastructure security
  • Incident mgmt. and forensics
  • Incident response
    This responsibility needs to be taken for 24hours/7days on call basis.
  • Lead projects to implement processes and tools

ALIGNMENT WITH DEPARTMENTS AND STAKEHOLDERS

Discuss and review during meetings with different departments the alignment with other departments within Technology, review existing process or task, assign resource to own the task IN ORDER TO ensure end to end process and system flow is efficient and optimised. Work closely with System Administrators and NOC teams to coordinate changes and enhancements as well as evaluate new technologies. Coordinate with corporate IT to develop and implement policies and procedures related to information security and policy compliance

NECESSARY SKILLS:
  • Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, 802.1ad
  • Proficiency in using network administration tools like Wireshark, Nagios, Observium, Interapper and other network monitoring software, and configuration management tools.
  • Responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of Layer 3 and Layer 2 devices utilized for Internet service, transport, and internal network purposes, with a particular focus on the hardware and protocols mentioned below. Hardware Experience in one or more platforms:
  • Juniper MX/EX series
  • Firewall (Cisco ASA/Juniper SRX etc.)
  • Cisco Router/Switch
  • Ethernet & Fibre cabling
  • CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System)
  • Alcatel Lucent SAR
  • Experience in one or more of the following protocols:
  • BGP/iBGP/OSPF/HRSP/VRRP/BFD
  • MPLS
  • VxLAN/EVPN
  • DHCP / DHCPv6 / DNS / SSL / NTP / ICMP / SNMP /
    • Relevant certifications:
    • CompTIA Network+/Security+
    • Cisco CCNA/CCNP
    • Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP
    • ITIL
    • MEF-CECP

    EDUCATION AND/ EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science and/or commensurate experience.
    • Network device configuration and management experience
    • Experience of Layer 1 - 3 of the OSI model as well as familiarity with 4-7.
    • Security implementation and management experience

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
    • Ability to converse professionally and with empathy with an emphasis on owning and solving issues whilst building excellent rapport.

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    This is a standard full-time role and during select times individual will be asked to work flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
