The Role
The Network Administrator will provide operational support, detailed design, and implementation expertise for network projects, with a special emphasis on leveraging Palo Alto Networks products. This role involves overseeing network managed services and working closely with service providers to maintain an optimized, secure network environment. Expertise in NAC and network segmentation is essential, along with a forward-thinking approach to utilizing Palo Alto's SASE, SD-WAN, firewalls, Panorama, Prisma Access, and GlobalProtect solutions.

This terminal is a world-class liquids terminal and export facility with very large crude carrier (VLCC) capabilities and direct pipeline connections to key basins like the Permian and Eagle Ford. The acquisition strengthens Gibson's cash flow with over 95% of the revenue under take-or-pay contracts with high-quality counterparties.

The Role
The Network Administrator will provide operational support, detailed design, and implementation expertise for network projects, with a special emphasis on leveraging Palo Alto Networks products. This role involves overseeing network managed services and working closely with service providers to maintain an optimized, secure network environment. What You Will Do
As a Network Administrator, you will:
- Oversee network design and architecture for corporate IT environments, ensuring efficient, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
- Provide leadership and collaboration with network managed services providers to maintain optimal network performance and security across all company locations.
- Maintain strong network segmentation practices and oversee the implementation and operation of ClearPass NAC to support secure access control.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols, collaborating with the cybersecurity team to ensure the network infrastructure complies with security policies and standards.
- Lead planning and implementation of network infrastructure projects, focusing on Palo Alto products and maximizing their security and performance capabilities.
- Monitor network activity for potential security threats or vulnerabilities and collaborate with the cybersecurity team to address these risks promptly.
- Provide comprehensive network support for LAN, SD-WAN, VPN, wireless, telecom, firewall/IPS, load balancing, and WAN acceleration technologies.
- Offer technical oversight for projects impacting network infrastructure, ensuring alignment with strategic IT and security goals.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of emerging network technologies to support business needs and enhance security.
- Generate reports on capacity planning, availability, and utilization to inform future network requirements and identify potential security gaps.
- Develop and maintain detailed network design documentation, diagrams, and configurations with a focus on secure design principles.
- Manage network utility software to ensure efficient operations, accurate monitoring, and compliance with security standards.
- Demonstrate commitment to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) standards, participating in applicable programs and ensuring safe operations within the team.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Role
- Minimum of 10 years in network design, operational support, and infrastructure project management, with previous experience in the Oil & Gas sector. Strong understanding of the distinctions and requirements between IT and OT environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto Networks solutions, including SASE, SD-WAN, Firewalls, Panorama, Prisma Access, and GlobalProtect. Ability to leverage these tools for advanced network security, segmentation, and performance.
- Experience with ClearPass NAC for access control and secure network segmentation. Proficiency in network security best practices, including firewall configuration (particularly zone-based firewall setups), VPN management, and secure access protocols.
- Advanced understanding of Cisco platforms, including Nexus and Catalyst switches, with hands-on experience using VRF (Virtual Routing and Forwarding) to enable network segmentation and support multi-tenant environments. Familiarity with complex routing protocols such as BGP and EIGRP.
- Experience with Azure cloud networking, hybrid integration, and secure cloud connectivity practices, particularly in support of hybrid IT/OT environments.
- Knowledge of essential network protocols (IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP) and hands-on experience with troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark for packet analysis. Familiarity with network monitoring and management solutions.
- Familiarity with Cisco Call Manager, Unity, and other tools for managing unified communications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity and operations.
