Position Overview
As a Network Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing point to point and dark fiber network services to Fiberlight's customers. These services may include DWDM waves, Ethernet MPLS services, and layer three services to customers.

As a Network Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing point to point and dark fiber network services to Fiberlight's customers. These services may include DWDM waves, Ethernet MPLS services, and layer three services to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Map and Design Circuits according to predetermined standards and specifications
- Create diagrams of circuits in CAD applications covering variety of network gear
- Coordinate provisioning with the Fiberlight NOC and external customers
- Migrate and Groom existing services to support increased capacity
- Collaborate with network engineers and other stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and requirements
- Serve as escalation for the NOC for customer support
- Support Operations during outages needing Engineering support
- Create and review technical statement of work documentation
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in network engineering
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and at least one DWDM Platform (Ciena, Adva, Infinera, Fujitsu, etc.)
- Experience with network management systems and protocols.
- Experience with CAD applications such as Microsoft Visio, 3GIS, VersaCAD
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with automating Cisco and Juniper routers and switches using Python scripts, Ansible, and Git.
- Experience with cloud automation using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Experience with BGP and MPLS configurations
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- CCNP or JNCP certifications is a plus
