Position Overview:
The Network Development Engineer will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network environments for the C2BMC Program. This role involves building out network capabilities, troubleshooting systems, and ensuring optimal network performance. You will collaborate within an agile scrum team, working on deployments to operational environments across various locations, including Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, Europe, and more.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, deploy, integrate, and test network upgrades at operational sites.
  • Lead and perform network installations at remote locations, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, providing timely updates to Program personnel.
  • Design and implement complex network solutions, including system, logical, and connectivity designs.
  • Maintain detailed network documentation, including configurations and design changes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and provide innovative network solutions.
  • Use Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio for professional presentations and design diagrams.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in EE, CIS, CPE, MIS, IT, or related field with 5+ years of professional experience, OR Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • IAT Level II 8570 Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
  • Government security clearance (DoD Secret - minimum, Top Secret - desired).
  • Proven experience in network design, development, and testing methodologies.
  • In-depth understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching/routing (e.g., Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizers, and optical transport equipment.
  • Strong skills in network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and firewall management (e.g., Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., NFV, SDWAN, VMware, Cloud Foundation, NSX, vSAN, Aria).
  • Understanding of DoD security practices, including STIG compliance and system accreditation.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with network automation using Ansible.
  • Prior experience with C2BMC.
  • Familiarity with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and complex TCP/IP network designs.
