Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor and maintain customer network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network and server problems.
- Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Perform routine maintenance and software upgrades on customer equipment.
- Serve as an escalation point for Network Specialist/Engineer I.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Lead meetings with NOC customers.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained on tickets.
- Ensure timely updates and responses to tickets.
- Assist in developing and training on NOC processes and procedures.
- Mentor less experienced team members.
- Work flexible shifts and participate in on-call rotation.
Qualifications
- In depth knowledge of Ethernet switching, IP routing, VoIP, and networking principles.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in operating, troubleshooting, or designing Internet Service Provider Networks.
- Bachelor's degree in computer/management information systems, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent required. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Industry relevant certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Adtran, Calix, MEF, etc).
- Strong understanding of multiple ISP broadband and core technologies (Adtran, Calix, Cambium, Juniper, Cisco, Ciena, Arista, etc).
- Proven ability to lead meetings with customers.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
