Description:

We are searching for a polished and experienced Network Engineer ready to join our service-centric internal Network team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our computer networks and providing level 1 network operations center (NOC) support for our clients and vendors. This includes escalating and working with our networking team to resolve connectivity related issues. Your primary duties will include regular maintenance of our computer networks, plus you will assist in network documentation and performing regular disaster recovery testing. You will work closely with our overall network team in assisting with other related networking design and provisioning projects. This is a full-time exempt position, located in Chicago and will report directly to the Director of Network Services.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Monitoring of our network performance and availability.
  • Providing level 1 network support for client and vendor related connectivity issues.
  • Provide customer support for our collocated clients.
  • Communication with end users, and managing expectations professionally.
  • Performing scheduled fail-over and disaster recovery testing.
  • Assist in planning and implementing network security measures.
  • Assist in the ongoing maintenance and documentation of our network and security.
  • Assist in the design, deployment, and configuration of new network initiatives.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree in network engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in the network engineering field
  • Vendor specific certifications (i.e. CISCO) is a plus
  • Good overall understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure.
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot networking devices, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Experience with CISCO, ARISTA, and Palo Alto Network devices a plus.
  • Experience with multicast configuration a plus.
  • Experience with cloud networking a plus.
  • Experience with client facing Network Operations Center (NOC) support.
  • Network security experience a plus.
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation.
  • Knowledge of the financial markets a plus.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressured technology environment.

  • Available to work in a hybrid environment (minimum 3+ days in office per week) at our downtown Chicago state of the art office
  • Local to Chicagoland area only or willing to relocate to Chicago
