Network Engineer

Treliant LLC, a multi-disciplinary compliance and strategic advisory firm specializing in banking/financial services, is seeking a Network Engineer for its Washington, DC office. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Information Security, the Network Engineer is responsible for the design, configuration, installation, and management of all network infrastructures and related client services within the enterprise.

The Network Engineer will also have sole responsibility for the identification and resolution of hardware and software technical problems and malfunctions related to network enterprise infrastructure and related servers. They will participate in and lead various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the enterprise network infrastructure.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Acts as lead for the installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of infrastructure as directed by IT Managers.
  • Responsible for planning and design of enterprise IP LAN/WAN network infrastructure, including routing and switching, wireless, telephone and network security.
  • Responsible for the creation of project implementation plans (design, testing, documentation, and training).
  • Diagnosis, isolation and resolution of network problems. Identifies and documents the root cause.
  • Proactively identify potential issues in the production environment and help recommend potential solutions.
  • Provide leadership and consultation on complex projects.
  • Be a top level contributor and subject matter expert on all types of network infrastructure design and integration.
  • Continuously monitors and supports network and servers in a mission critical datacenter.
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).


Qualifications:
  • BS degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a similar technical discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Network engineering experience; minimum 8-10 years of implementation/configuration in an enterprise environment.
  • Extensive technical knowledge in IP networking and network architecture.
  • Deep technical skills in key areas of infrastructure (networking, security, remote access, disaster recovery, etc.).
  • Collaborate well with others with the ability to define, document, and clearly communicate overall engineering decisions and direction.


Preferred/Desired Skills:

Certified in one or more of the following:

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)


Knowledge of the following technologies:
  • Networking - WAN and LAN connectivity, OTV, MPLS technologies. Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco IOS/ASR Routers, IOS/Nexus Switches and CUCM telephony, Cisco Wireless Infrastructure. VMware NSX, VPN technologies, SonicWALL and Global Protect
  • Network tracing and troubleshooting (Wireshark, Fiddler)
  • In depth understanding of datacenter interconnectivity
  • Server technology- VMware, Cisco UCS, Dell
  • Disaster Recovery and replication technologies.
  • Operating Systems-Windows 2012 R2, 2016 (Standard and Enterprise), Linux
  • Basic scripting skills
  • Monitoring Solutions including SolarWinds

Compensation Benefits:
