You will be responsible for planning, designing, maintaining, and integrating local and wide area network infrastructure while contributing to the edge networking architecture deployed throughout the enterprise.

As a Network Engineer, you will provide multi-tier network support to highly complex edge networks for assigned client business groups. This role is part of the Edge Networking team. You will be responsible for planning, designing, maintaining, and integrating local and wide area network infrastructure while contributing to the edge networking architecture deployed throughout the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installs, configures, maintains, and manages network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, Silver Peak SD-WAN edge appliances, wireless infrastructure, cellular-based appliances, and related hardware/software.
- Performs network management functions utilizing industry-standard tools to monitor, test, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network problems by working with users, service providers, business partners, and other networking teams.
- Assists in the planning and design of LAN/WAN network architecture, including network bandwidth analysis, capacity planning, and the creation of detailed specifications and schematic engineering drawings for network enhancements and modifications.
- Supports planned deployments, upgrades, and change management efforts within the edge networking group, collaborating with agency and other edge networking teams.
- Participates in ServiceNow trouble ticket resolution, ensuring proper documentation of incidents and adherence to established processes.
- Provides Tier 2 support for widespread network events or incidents and proactively identifies and troubleshoots complex network issues to resolution.
- Evaluates current and future network needs, prepares technical solutions and recommendations, and reviews the development of configuration standards.
- Assists in the design and optimization of highly complex networks, ensuring they meet or exceed client security requirements.
- Creates and maintains Visio diagrams documenting new and existing edge network elements, particularly those in specialty/field networks.
- Documents network component configurations, including setup, installation, and overall deployment of network hardware and software.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, and maintaining LAN/WAN network architecture in large enterprise environments.
- Experience with network bandwidth analysis, capacity planning, and creating schematic engineering drawings.
- Hands-on experience with switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN appliances, and wireless infrastructure.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex network issues, utilizing network monitoring tools, and resolving incidents through ServiceNow or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with routing protocols and network security practices aligned with enterprise requirements.
- Strong skills in Visio for network diagram creation and documentation.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with employees, vendors, and business partners.
- Experience supporting remote IT staff and business partners with network-related issues and deployments.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools, automation, and configuration standards.
- CCNA and CCNP certifications (preferred), or commensurate hands-on experience in large enterprise environments.
