We currently have a need for a Network Operations Engineer to support a global network environment while following ITIL change processes.
Responsibilities:
- Significant operational experience with IP networking, network hardware), Network Security/Firewall Management, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, etc), and Wide Area Networks.
- Troubleshooting complex network outages.
- Troubleshooting tools such as traffic analyzers.
- Test, install troubleshoot network configurations.
- Review technical requirements for deployment.
- Develop design and system configuration based on technical requirements.
- Recommend enhancements/changes to system design.
- Escalation of problems as appropriate to management.
- Support during and after network cut-overs and change to the environment
Skills required:
- Bachelor's degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years' experience with enterprise-level network troubleshooting
- At least 5 years' experience in network operations, following an ITIL and ITSM framework
- Knowledge of NOC tools such as Netbox, monitoring Zabbix, IPfabric, ServiceNow
- Troubleshooting, and monitoring of core LAN/WAN/MAN services
- Experience with Cisco and Arista routers and switches
- Knowledge of Cisco and Aruba Wireless LAN, troubleshooting with Cisco Prime and/or DNAC technology
- Experience troubleshooting firewalls and various other hardware (ie. Cisco, PaloAlto, Fortinet)
- Proficient in routing protocols: TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, Multicast, IP CEF
- Advanced performance tuning and capacity management concepts
- Through understanding of IP concepts including routing, VLAN's, QoS, tuning and capacity management concepts
- Current Cisco data networking certifications i.e. CCNA, CCNP, strongly preferred, but not required.
- Experience working in large enterprise networks is desired.
- The ability to work under pressure and interface with senior management will be key to these roles.
