CHOC Specialists is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician or a fellowship trained Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities Neurologist or Child Neurologist with experience in working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to aid in the growth and development of the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center at CHOC.

The Center is a collaborative effort of UC Irvine School of Medicine and Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). Since its opening in 2020, the Center has been a leader in medical assessment, diagnosis, care coordination, family support and education for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders focusing on families in Orange County and surrounding areas from birth through age 22 years. Our Center provides early assessment as well as longitudinal collaborative and comprehensive care for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disabilities and frequently associated co-occurring disorders in sleep, gastroenterology, epilepsy, neurobehavioral and psychiatric conditions.

With a recent increase in funding, the Center will expand to offer a multidisciplinary team of specialists for evaluation and treatment of feeding disorders, as well as intensive comprehensive care programming for those individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and moderate to severe mental health disorders. A n adult transition planning program for families and individuals has also received funding and is in the process of expanding services.

Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted California medical license and DEA registration. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who has a strong commitment to patient care, education, research and community engagement. The faculty member will provide direct patient care, be involved in teaching and community outreach, and be encouraged to participate in clinical research. Candidates with a track record in clinical research and grant funding may be eligible for protected and funded research time.
