Baptist Health Fort Smith (BHFS) is recruiting a Neurologist to join an existing physician. The recruitment need is for someone to see inpatients with an opportunity for outpatient work as well. In the existing group there is one Physician and one APRN who sees both inpatients and outpatients. There is an opportunity for the next physician to shape the practice based on their practice style preferences as long as inpatient care is provided. The ideal candidate will be a physician who is engaged and enthusiastic about continuing to grow the hospital's Neuroscience program and is willing to take call. The Neuroscience program includes a Neurosurgeon and an Interventional Radiologist who works closely with the physician.
Baptist Health Fort Smith is a 492-bed hospital complete with an emergency department, intensive care unit, outpatient imaging and surgery center. It offers a wide range of specialties including cardiology, neuro-interventional radiology, orthopedics, pediatrics and geriatric medicine. The facility is accredited by the Joint Commission and continues to earn recognition for exceptional stroke and heart care by national agencies. The system also includes a 103-bed hospital nearby in Van Buren and more than 40 clinic locations. Baptist Health employs nearly 100 providers in Western Arkansas and works closely with independent and contracted physicians in the community to provide quality care to its patients. Baptist Health-Fort Smith, formerly known as Sparks Regional Medical Center, was built in 1887 making it the state's first hospital.
