Job Description
The Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine, committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty and staff, is seeking a full-time fellowship-trained neuroradiologist to contribute to our mission of clinical service, research, and education.
The division of diagnostic neuroradiology serves the University of Maryland Medical Center and its affiliated hospitals. UMMC is an acute care hospital with over 600 beds, including a Neurocare Center of Excellence and the Shock Trauma Center. The division is comprised of 9 faculty members and works closely with a team of 4 neurointerventional surgeons. Equipment includes High Field MRI scanners, Simultaneous PET-MRI, Hyperpolarized C-13 MRI and an MRI guided focused ultrasound system. In addition to being engaged in a robust clinical and educational program, the division is also an integral part of the Center for Metabolic Imaging and Therapeutics and the Maryland Center for Advanced Imaging Research.
Qualifications
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible for or certified by the American Board of Radiology and qualify for a Maryland medical license. Candidates must have successfully completed at least a 1-year ACGME accredited neuroradiology fellowship and be Neuroradiology CAQ-certified or eligible.
Applicants should possess expertise in interpretation of MRI and CT examinations of the brain, spine, head and neck. Proficiency with basic spine interventional procedures is expected. The incumbent is expected to actively participate in furthering the education mission of the department with its residency and programs and also with the School of Medicine. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clinicians, patients, and trainees are required. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and skills. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of Maryland pay scales.
