Job Title: Mammography Technologist
Job Specialty: Mammographer
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days; 4x 10-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred
License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Mammography (M) required
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Must-Have: Working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking. Computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies.
Job Description:
- Perform breast imaging procedures, including mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, and assist with breast ultrasound biopsy.
- Follow guidelines for breast imaging, adhering to quality control standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of breast anatomy and safe administration of radiation.
- Identify and review patient requisitions for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis.
- Ensure examinations and protocols are followed, including procedures requiring contrast agents and sterile techniques.
- Conduct and document quality control, ensuring equipment is within safe limits.
- Communicate clearly and educate patients during breast imaging procedures, ensuring continuity of care.
- Review and perform breast imaging examinations for technical accuracy and present completed examinations to the radiologist.
- Schedule appointments and assist in coordinating exams for quality and continuity of patient care.
- Assist in managing departmental workflow to ensure completion of work assignments and proper patient charges.
- Organize, monitor, and order medical supplies to ensure cost-effective spending.
- Act as a team player to support overall departmental success and promote breast health education.
- Participate in the orientation of new employees and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain 24 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every two years and current CPR certification.
- Adhere to compliance and regulatory requirements, including confidentiality standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental needs.

- Walk: 20%
- Other physical activities as required
Sensory Requirement:
- Lift up to 35 lbs occasionally
