UW Medical Center-Montlake has a leadership opportunity for a Nurse Manager to join our Level IV Neonatal ICU team. Our NICU cares for premature and critically ill newborn infants, born here at UW Medical Center or transported in from outlying hospitals.

  • As part of UW Medicine, the NICU has access to the most advanced neonatal research.
  • Our team has been instrumental in setting the standard for reducing risk of brain damage and lung problems in premature babies across the nation.
  • Come work with an interdisciplinary team of neonatologists, nurses, neonatal physical therapists, respiratory care practitioners, pharmacists, nutritionists, other health professionals and parents as members of a baby's health-care team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruiting and hiring
  • Supervision and planning
  • Implementation of programs to meet specific patient care needs
  • Focus on continuous improvement of the quality of patient care
  • Planning and management of the unit's budget
    The Nurse Manager will have direct oversight of more than 120 employees. to include, those that directly support the nurse manager and lead practice:
  • Four Assistant Nurse Managers
  • A Clinical Nurse Educator
    The Nurse Manager provides leadership to help build and sustain a foundation of quality and excellence in practice.
    REQUIRMENTS
  • Have/Obtain a WA state nursing license
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field or enrolled in Master's program.
  • Supervisory leadership experience in neonatal nursing
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
