Overview
The Nurse Manager - Multi-Specialty is responsible for the development, performance, and management of clinical patient care for nursing, medical assistants. The Nurse Manager will work as part of triad leadership team in making decisions that best support clinical staff, extended care team members and providers to ensure patients obtain access to care that is timely, effective, efficient and safe. This position is responsible for the population health management of assigned clinic patient panel by performing regular analysis of population health data, improve clinical care workflows that lead to improvement of the quality of patient care and enhance cost effectiveness. Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Work Experience:
Two (2) years of Clinical leadership experience in an ambulatory clinic and/or hospital setting
Demonstrated knowledge of Joint Commission standards, HIPAA regulations, and the Quadruple Aim
Licenses and Certifications:
Unrestricted Registered Nurse License (RN) in the State of Texas
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Obtained through approved American Heart Association.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with the patient's care team including, primary care team, specialists, home care, hospital team, and any others involved with the patient's care to optimize clinical outcomes.
- Performs regular analysis of population health data to improve clinical care workflows that lead to improvement of the quality of patient care and enhance cost effectiveness.
- Participates as an effective member of the site Triad management team to ensure the clinical services team supports the overall operational and fiscal activities of the site to include staffing levels, budgets, financial and operating goals such as productivity and quality.
- Manages the clinical support team. Implements and provides oversight of clinical care delivered by licensed nursing staff, medical assistants, technicians, and students.
- Establishes work assignment priorities for clinical areas including licensed nursing staff and Medical Assistants.
- Manages oversight of health center equipment needs, equipped examination rooms, infection control standards, CLIA and Radiology regulations, compliance with Standing Delegation Orders, and emergency protocols.
- Monitors the compliance with standards of care for on-site treatments and procedures, administration of medications, as well as timely and quality clinical workflows.
- Enhances the patient experience by addressing and resolving patient issues in a timely manner.
- Ensures that daily patient care (unit) huddles are being conducted.
- Interviews/selects candidates, approves payroll/time off requests, administers performance evaluations, training & orientation of new hires, and coaching/counseling of staff.
- Maintains supplies inventory by developing par levels, studying usage reports, identifying trends, anticipating needed supplies, approving requisitions and cost allocations.
- Completes daily/weekly quality assurance checklists to include delegation of tasks as appropriate to staff (Rider report, class D, McKesson, CLIA, AED, equipment checks, etc.)
- Ensures all tasks provided and associated with patient care, patient administrative processes and related duties comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, and Central Health Standard Operating Procedures, Policies and Procedures.
- Ensures all applicable vaccine policies are being followed.
- To enhance the patient experience and to avoid delays in care, may support Provider teams by assisting with in basket management, refilling medications, rooming, dismissing and triaging patients in a timely manner following established protocols.
- Supports and assists with the coordination of student learners including serving as a preceptor if needed.
- Adheres to the Texas Board of Nursing and Texas Nurse Practice Act requirements and to other governing agency regulations.
- Assists in the development of departmental protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement projects in order to better serve the patient, family and healthcare system to improve the quality of service provided.
- Maintains awareness of key performance indicators/metrics and coordinating interventions to improve patient outcomes.
- Coordinates and attends staff meetings and education offerings both in person and via teleconference/online as required.
- Supports organizational initiatives to promote and maintain a strong positive workplace culture.
- Serves on committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
