Description
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Nurse Manager is responsible for leading robust nursing and clinical care management programs including the oversite and administration of Alliance Medical Center's (AMC's) nursing services, running the clinical risk management process including AMC's Infection Control program, developing robust data systems needed to provide information from clinical and administrative practices that will inform strategic projects, and managing the daily operations that result in reaching goals identified in AMC's Risk Management Plan. The Nurse Manager is responsible for successful clinical program audits and ensures AMC follows local, state, and Federal regulations within scope of nursing expertise. The Nurse Manager designs and implements appropriate process improvement projects to address audit findings and support maintenance of excellence in clinical operations. The Nurse Manager oversees the nursing staff as well as the Pharmacy Technician; participates and provides direct support for AMC's QA/QI meetings and activities. The Nurse Manager oversees the Healthcare Safety Zone portal and actively directs Risk Management meetings and the activities therein. The Nurse Manager provides direct service on a limited basis if/when patient demands out strips staffing level. The Nurse Manager is an active partner with the leadership team and gathers and designs and responds to actionable data to improve service delivery. Most critically, the Nurse Manager works effectively as a clinical leader as an integral team member of the medical operations management team in ensuring day to day operations are successfully meeting organizational goals.

Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Partners with clinical leadership in developing and implementing AMC's Quality and Risk Management Plan. This includes identifying strategic projects, implementing process improvement projects, monitoring and maintaining data systems, coordinating and leading meetings, documenting and maintaining records of QAQI initiatives, safety, and risk mitigation activities, and reporting to the CMO risk management activities.
- Collaborates with CMO and clinical leadership to ensure the risk management training plan is executed and that annual training goals are met.
- Develops clinical policies and procedures used to ensure culturally sensitive and quality patient care, that improves efficiency, patient satisfaction, and cost effectiveness.
- In collaboration with the leadership team, provides strategic leadership in helping AMC prepare to transition revenue structure from a Perspective Payment System (PPS) into an Alternative Payment Methodologies (APM) / Value Based Care. Will provide support to staff and patients during transition and evaluate the design and implementation of APM as needed.
- Direct oversight, support, coaching and leadership support of nursing staff in the department including professional development, leadership cultivation, and staff supervision including completion of timely performance evaluations and other personnel actions for staff supervised.
- Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations relative to clinical nursing.
- Responsible for implementation of AMC's Infection Control program and ensures internal compliance; facilitates internal Infection Control Committee.
- Oversees the Healthcare Safety Zone portal/program and facilitates/updates clinical portions of Risk Management meetings and directs process improvement related to Risk Management including incident management, data analytics, and governance workflows.
- Serves as an effective team member with the CMO, Director of Clinical Operations, medical and dental supervisors, among other key positions including senior management within the organization to ensure that the operational processes are appropriately integrated into the clinical areas to promote operational quality, efficient and effective performance in the provision of patient care.
- Develops, plans, and implements, with team members, short-and long-range organizational strategic goals and objectives per AMC's Strategic Plan and emerging need areas; implements operational strategies to meet organizational performance plans and goals within budget and timelines.
- Reports on role areas' operational aspects to leadership and advises in helping to advance the mission, goals, objectives and programs of the clinic.
- Will take initiative in providing direct nursing services in a limited manner as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Registered Nurse license in State of California, required;
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in healthcare with 3 years of previous nursing leadership required, ideally at a community health center
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; must have excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Must have interest and ability to work effectively with teams while performing independently on quality and timely task completion
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office tools and proficiency with electronic medical records
- Demonstrates empathy and respect for vulnerable populations, interest in working collaboratively and capability to follow-through with assigned tasks
- Experience working at a Federally Qualified Health Center, Indian Health Center, or a multi-site non-profit ambulatory clinic, highly preferred
